Gaming has become more and more popular around the world, and the rise of esports competitions has marked a new era of mainstream acceptance for gaming as a worthwhile passion and even profession in its own right. However esports have taken off more quickly in some places than others, and on the whole there tends to be many more male gamers playing professionally.
