Marcelo Isarrualde's Artist Journal Video at Venice Art Biennale 2019

A few months ago BenQ Ambassador Marcelo Isarrualde had the opportunity to travel to Italy to photograph the Uruguayan Pavilion at the 58th edition of the Venice Art Biennale 2019, open until 24 November. The Biennale di Venezia is one of the most important cultural institutions in the world. This art biennial is among the oldest, most important and prestigious international exhibitions of contemporary art. Uruguay has had its own pavilion since 1960 and in this edition represented the country, the artist Yamandú Canosa with his installation "The Empathic House". It is a revision of numerous works of the artist in which the use of language and the game with space offer a new visual narrative that investigates the so-called cultural identity, the borders or the roots themselves. An exhibition that goes beyond the pavilion's own room -expanding on the facade- and that, through the use of territory and geographical references, proposes a subtle reflection on national construction. A landscape of great visual force whose romantic aspiration does not detract from its impeccable technical execution. The diversity of colours and the particular tones of some paintings made it essential to use a Color Checker colour chart at the same time a high quality monitor such as BenQ's SW271 monitor.
